What is it formulated to do?
Enhances the color process either in the salon or at home. The ColorLock Press uses high heat (230° C) and pressure from the dimpled plates to: unravel the cortex, break down the color pigment so it can penetrate deeper and be distributed more evenly, and squeeze the color pigment deep into the hair shaft. The Zeolite and tourmaline-infused plates of the ColorLock Press use negative ions to close the cuticle and seal in the color pigment molecules, trapping them inside. The formulation of the ColorLock Pressing Spray fills in any gaps between the cuticle for a smoother, more polished and reflective finish so color looks more luminous and vibrant.

In tests we have established that colour fade can be reduced by up to 74%.

How to use at Home

It starts after color is applied and hair is shampooed or rinsed, while hair is still damp. Apply ColorLock Pressing Spray to shampooed, wet hair only (about 10 pumps all around head, 1oz is sufficient for around 10 to 12 applications) and massage and comb through evenly. Taking 2-inch sections of hair glide the ColorLock Press through each section with one pass. Work the press around the head ONE time only. Hair will not be completely dry, so dry and style as desired with any of your favorite T3 Tourmaline tools.

How often do you recommend doing this at home?

T3 hair suggests using the Press and Spray 2-3 times weekly at home for best results. Depending on hair type and desired look, each user will need to determine how frequently to use it. T3 hair does not recommend using it more than 3 times per week.

Will this prolong roots from showing?

Color will need to be re-applied due to hair growth and eventual degradation of color caused by environmental factors. Although the ColorLock cannot prevent the process of hair growth, it can reduce color-fading, ensure hair color looks more vibrant and lustrous longer while improving the condition of color treated hair. Using this tool at the end of the color process and consistently 2-3 times per week after the coloring process will preserve and enhance hair color so it looks better, longer.

Doesn’t this add another step to the coloring process?

ColorLock is not an additional step in the coloring process because it is fast and easy to use. Plus, after working it through the wet hair, hair will be significantly dryer. So, although hair will not be completely dry, it will mean a quicker drying time when styling the hair.
